Mitch Keller Under 5.5 Strikeouts

Mitch Keller has been a slow starter historically posting a career 5.22 ERA in April. While he has an advantageous matchup here against a soft Marlins lineup, we don’t see him reaching 6 strikeouts tonight.

While he has fared decently in his career against the Fish, posting a solid lifetime ERA of 3.38, he averages just 0.85 strikeouts per inning (7.73 per 9). Pair this with his April struggles, and the likelihood of being on a slightly shorter leash in his first start of the season and we see him sitting comfortably below this total.

Yordan Alveraz 2+ Total Bases

Yordan Alveraz was quiet on opening day going o for 2 with a pair of walks. Look for him to respond with a big game today. While he’s just 1 for 2 lifetime against Tylor McGill he has absoultely crushed Mets pitching to the tune of a .423 lifetime average including 4 home runs in just 26 ABs.

He profiles very well against McGill. Look for Houston’s premier slugger to run into one today, and at the very least find a gap. This is a nice plus money price (+115) on an advantageous matchup.

Luis Arraez 2+ Total Hits

Luis Arraez was also quiet on opening day but remains one of the premier contact hitters in the game today. He has owned Reynaldo Lopez posting a massive .423 average in 26 career at bats.

Expect the offenses to show up again today in San Diego giving Arraez plenty of at bats. At +165 we will gladly back him to notch a couple of base hits against a starter he has fared very well against historically.
