College Basketball Betting Odds
There are many different college basketball odds and betting lines to consider when sizing up your college basketball picks.
Traditional NCAAB odds include spreads, moneylines, and totals; however, the best online sportsbooks also provide a significant array of game and player props.
You can find CBB odds by navigating to the “NCAAM” tab and browsing all available betting lines. If you want to explore prop markets, select the “More Wagers” tab under a given CBB betting line.

CBB Point Spread Odds
College basketball spreads are among the most common NCAAB betting lines you will find. Oddsmakers set this line as a handicap to account for the projected disparity between the two teams and to try and get close to equal betting volume on each side.
The betting favorite is represented by a minus sign (-). The underdog is represented by a plus sign (+).
If you back the favorite on a college basketball spread, it means to win your bet, a team must not only win outright but also win by enough to cover the spread. (i.e., if you open up an app like BetMGM and bet on a favorite at -4.5, they must win by five or more points for your bet to cash).
Inversely a bet on the underdog means your team must either win outright or lose by less than the spread (i.e if you bet an underdog at +4.5, they must either win outright or lose by four or less).
CBB Moneyline Odds
College basketball moneyline wagers are among the most simplistic. It is a bet on which team you think will win the game.
Moneylines remove spreads from the equation; however, you will find the odds weighted differently, with a bet on the favorite paying out less than your initial stake and a bet on the underdog paying out more favorably.
CBB Over/Under Odds
A bet on a college basketball total works a little differently than spread and moneylines. Rather than betting on a side to win or cover the spread, you are betting on how many total points will be scored in a given contest.
With CBB total betting lines, you can either bet the over or the under. For example, if the line is set at 135.5 points, a bet on the over means you think the two teams will combine for 136 points or more, and a bet on the under means you think 135 points or fewer will be scored.
Other NCAAB Odds
If you are looking beyond conventional CBB betting odds, you can also wager on additional prop bets such as first-half spreads, totals, moneylines, individual team totals, or alternate lines that allow you to adjust spreads/totals.
You can also bet on individual player performances. This typically includes over/under on stats such as points scored, assists, and rebounds. Remember, not all legal betting states allow player props on college sports, so be sure to check your local jurisdiction if you want to bet on odds for college basketball player props.
