Clemson has dominated the series in recent years, pulling off seven straight wins over the Seminoles, so it has certainly been a while since the roles were reversed as they are here. Since 2000, Florida State has won in Death Valley just twice in 11 trips. Yet, as the fourth-ranked team in the country, they find themselves the favorites here, due in large part to their big season-opening win over No. 5 LSU.
The ‘Noles looked meager versus Boston College though the Eagles certainly played above and beyond. Travis’ injury seems to be a non-factor heading into this game, though you have to consider the environment being a big one for the senior, who did not play the last time FSU made the trek to Clemson.
Last season, the Seminoles signal-caller accounted for three TDs in a 34-28 loss to then No. 4 Clemson. Travis is a poised quarterback and as a senior, I don’t think he gets affected by the crowd too much here. I like for the Seminoles to look to make a statement after last week’s near debacle. They also are probably a bit sick of losing to Dabo and company.

The Colorado Buffaloes have been a great surprise and exciting to watch but the defense will not hold up against Oregon. Colorado has a prolific offense but the defense is poor. The defense has conceded at least 35 points in two of their three games. The unit squandered 499 total yards against Colorado State last week. The Buffaloes needed OT to beat Colorado State who are not good a team. They are expected to be in the bottom half of the MWC. Oregon has experienced defensive players in the secondary that will give Colorado more trouble than Colorado State did.
Furthermore, Oregon QB Bo Nix should have no problem generating his usual numbers. The Buffaloes allowed 279 passing yards against TCU and 397 yards against Colorado State. Nix has connected on 78% of his passes this season and has yet to throw a pick. It might be even harder for Colorado to contain the Ducks running game. They rank 13th in rushing yards and the Buffaloes rush defense is pegged 122nd. Shedeur Sanders has been great but is up against a stellar Ducks secondary that is limiting opponents to 158 passing yards per game.
