La Salle vs Duke NCAAB Free Pick

by Michael Briggs

Duke was unable to cover the massive 35-point spread in its win over Bucknell, but it shouldn’t have the same problem against La Salle. The Explorers lack frontcourt depth, as its top five scorers are guards. The lone forwards who have earned playing time are averaging 8.6 points and 6.6 rebounds combined. With that said, it should come as little surprise La Salle is 353rd nationally in rebounding.

Duke’s length and size will prove problematic for La Salle, as the Devils will be in the Explorers’ passing lanes, turning turnovers into fast-break buckets. Its length will be challenging for La Salle to shoot over and its size will be tough to overcome in the paint and on the boards. One more reason I like Duke to cover is that it’s a reliable foul-shooting team (26th nationally).

Prediction: Blue Devils -24.5
