What is the Fiesta Bowl?
The Fiesta Bowl, held in Glendale, Arizona, will take place on New Year’s Day between the #23 Liberty Flames (13-0) and the #8 Oregon Ducks (11-2). The Fiesta Bowl has been one of the most anticipated bowl games each season since 1971.
In this year’s matchup, representing Conference USA, Liberty has a chance to finish 14-0 and represent all the Group of 5 Conference teams produced. The oddsmakers are not giving Liberty much of an opportunity as the Ducks are 16.5-point favorites, and the total is 67.

Tale of the Tape: Liberty vs Oregon
Both teams come into this game with explosive offenses. Oregon averages 41.1 ppg. Liberty has put up 40.8 ppg, ranking fourth and fifth in the nation, respectfully. The Oregon Ducks are third with a 22.9 point margin of victory this season, and Liberty is 11th winning by an average margin of 18.1 ppg.
The Duck’s offense is led by their Heisman Trophy finalist quarterback, Bo Nix, who threw for 4,145 yards with 40 touchdowns against just three interceptions this season. Nix has rushed for 228 yards and six touchdowns as well.
Liberty quarterback Kaidon Salter has thrown for 2,750 yards with 31 touchdowns and five intercepts through the air. Salter has also added 1,064 yards and 12 touchdowns on the ground.
