How To Bet On 3×3 Basketball At The 2024 Summer Games

summer games

3×3 basketball is nothing new to both serious and casual hoopers worldwide, but the concept of competitive 3-on-3 hoops at the international level and being able to bet on the sport legally is a newer venture. 3-on-3 basketball was in the Summer Games for the first time in the 2020 Tokyo Games, which was actually held in 2021 due to the COVID-10 pandemic. On the men’s side, Latvia took first place, followed by the ROC (a Russian committee), which took second, and Serbia at third. The United States took the top prize on the women’s side, followed by the ROC and China.

Although seeing 3-on-3 basketball at the Summer Games will be exciting, understanding how to bet on 3-on-3 basketball is something that even the most savvy sports bettors can likely use some information on.

The Basic Rules of 3-on-3 Basketball

If you want to bet on 3-on-3 basketball, first, you need to know the rules. Then, you need to know where to place a bet. You can check the full rules here. Perhaps the most important rule to understand as a viewer is that the first team to score 21 points wins, and if neither team can score 21 minutes in 10 minutes, the time with the most points wins. If the game is tied and goes to overtime, the first team to score two points wins.

How is 3-on-3 basketball scored?

In 3 X 3 basketball, a shot made from beyond the arc scores two points, while a shot taken from inside the arc scores one point. (In traditional basketball, these shots are worth three and two points. Free throws are worth one point each, the same as in a traditional basketball game.
