Seattle Mariners First Five Inning Run Line (-0.5/-102)
The AL West-leading Seattle Mariners play host to the Houston Astros on Thursday afternoon. Seattle is on the brink of a four-game sweep after edging out the Astros by narrow margins each of the past three nights.
Seattle owns a distinct starting pitching advantage in this matchup as they turn to young phenom Logan Gilbert. Through his first 11 starts Gilbert owns a solid 3.06 ERA while pitching to a sterling 0.98 WHIP. He has had career success against Houston with a 5-2 lifetime record, 3.15 career ERA and 1.08 WHIP.
The real advantage comes with who the opposition is. Spencer Arrighetti has been hit hard in his first eight times out this season with a bloated 6.93 ERA and 1.97 WHIP. Opponents are hitting a whopping .305 off him so far in 2024. While he has fared marginally better of late isolating the first five innings here at close to even odds is too good of a price to pass up.
Lay the run through the first five innings and back the team in better form with the vastly superior arm.
Arizona Diamondbacks Money Line (-124)
The Mets are in free fall, entering play amid a putrid 4-14 stretch. The vibes are bad, and there is a real indication we are close to a total teardown with the trade deadline just two months away.
New York ranks in the bottom third of the league in multiple offensive metrics, including runs scored, team batting average, and OPS. Now, they must contend with an ace in Zac Gallen, who is on the heels of four straight quality starts.
The Mets counter with Christian Scott, who has shown flashes but has also been inconsistent with an ERA of a touch below 4.
Arizona has also been a bit disappointing this season, but this feels like a get-right opportunity against a reeling New York team that can’t get out of its own way.

Marcell Ozuna 2+ Total Bases (-115)
