Sun Belt Conference Tournament Schedule

Most experts pick Appalachian State and James Madison to advance to Monday night’s Sun Belt Conference championship game. There’s a lot riding on how well they play. Depending on the results, one could receive an at-large selection to the NCAA Tournament.

However, it’s been a long time since the conference sent two teams to the Big Dance. Western Kentucky and Middle Tennessee State hold that distinction after they qualified in 2013.

In other games:

  • Thursday’s second round starts with #8 South Alabama (16-15) against #9 Georgia Southern (8-23).
  • Next up, the winner will face #1 Appalachian State in the quarterfinals.
  • #5 Louisiana (18-13) and Coastal Carolina (9-21) will battle in the second game. They’re playing for a chance to play on Saturday against #4 Arkansas State (16-15).
  • Later, #3 Troy (20-11) will take on the winner of the third quarterfinal between #6 Southern Miss (16-15) and #11 Texas State (15-17).
  • #7 Georgia State (14-16) and #10 Marshall (12-19) will feature in the final contest of the evening. The winner moves on to face #2 James Madison (28-3) in Saturday’s quarterfinals.
  • After that, the semifinals of the Sun Belt Tournament will take place on Sunday, March 10. The first game will tip off at 5 PM, and the winner will advance to the championship game on Monday.
