Although the Cavaliers won’t win the Central Division this season, they still have a shot to capture the #3 seed in the Eastern Conference as they play the second leg of a back-to-back in Memphis tonight. Cleveland played without a slew of players last night including Evan Mobley, Jarrett Allen, Sam Merrill, Dean Wade and Jaylon Tyson. Sure, a few of those names or more could possibly return tonight but we’re taking Donovan Mitchell to go over 25.5 points anyway. It was a much tighter game than the Cavaliers were anticipating yesterday only defeating the Pacers 117-108 at home with Mitchell pouring in 38 points on 16-27 shooting. Now he gets to face a Memphis team that has given up the second most points per game to shooting guards over the last 15 days with both teams running at a top 10 pace over their last 10 games. The Grizzlies are also playing the second of a back-to-back tonight which could mean tired legs for a lineup that is essentially filled with G-League players at this point of the season. The first time these two went head-to-head was way back on November 15th, but Mitchell still scored 30 points on 10-21 shooting. After last night’s close call, let’s look for Mitchell to be a pivotal scoring threat for the Cavaliers once again going over 25.5 points at Memphis on Monday night.
