I've got you guys covered with a free play on the ice tonight. I'm riding with the Red Wings on the moneyline in this pick 'em spot against the Panthers. For starters, we just saw the Wings beat the Cats 3-1 Friday night in Motown. This was Florida's fourth loss in the last five games.
Florida's offense has been horrendous recently, and I don't see them righting the ship against this solid Detroit defense. The Panthers, over the last 10 games, are ranked 25th in G/60 minutes (2.58) and 28th in shooting percentage (8.61%). They'll take on a Red Wings defense that ranks eighth in GAA (2.66) and second in high-danger SOG allowed (22) over the same 10-game span. I think the Red Wings smother the struggling Panthers, grinding out a low-scoring victory.
