The PLAY: Brandon Lowe Hits + Runs + RBIs Over 1.5 (-128) Action
Cubs' starter Jameson Taillon has allowed the most home runs (17) of any pitcher in baseball thus far, including six home runs allowed over his last two starts. Taillon can't blame the windy conditions at Wrigley Field for those struggles because he's pitched worse away from home. In five starts away from home, Taillon has a 6.04 ERA with ten home runs allowed. Pirates' second baseman Brandon Lowe looks to be well-equipped to capitalize on Taillon's struggles. Lowe enters Wednesday in the top-20th percentile among hitters in expected weighted on-base average, expected slugging percentage, barrel rate and hard-hit rate. Lowe has 13 home runs this season, including two against the Cubs. Lowe is 4-for-8 in the first two games of this series with an RBI and two runs scored. He's hitting .293 in the month of May with a .928 OPS. Ten of Lowe's 13 home runs this season have come against right-hand pitching, which he will see from Taillon.
