| MLB | (967) Cincinnati Reds at (968) New York Yankees: Total | 7:05pm EDT - Jun 19/2026 |
The PLAY: Total Under 8.5 (-103) Rhett Lowder (RHP), Cam Schlittler (RHP) Must Start
The Reds, who are 15-27 their L42 games including 5-10 since Elly De La Cruz went on the IL, have been held to three runs or less in 9 of the last 15 games. This is a lineup with the second lowest team batting average (.228) in all of baseball this season. I do not see them scoring many runs tonight, facing Cam Schlittler and the Yankees.
Schlittler comes into tonight sporting a 1.82 ERA and he's allowed two runs or fewer in 9 of his last 10 starts. Given all the above, it stands to reason that he won't have much difficulty mowing down this generally awful Reds lineup.
But, of course, the Yankees are still without Aaron Judge. After scoring 60+ runs over a nine-game stretch, the Yanks were held to just one run in last night's loss to the White Sox. I think we're likely to see more offensive regression from the Pinstripes with Judge out of the lineup. Rhett Lowder starts here for Cincy. He's allowed just one run over his last two starts since coming back from the IL.
