Bryan Reynolds brings a nine-game hitting streak into this weekend's series in Denver, and should have a nice opportunity to add to it. Warm temperatures in the 80s will add to the hitter-friendly conditions at Coors Field on Friday as the Pirates kick off their weekend series with the Rockies. Reynolds went 7-for-13 with two home runs, four runs scored and five RBI in a three-game series against the Athletics earlier this week. The Pirates' left fielder is hitting over .300 since the beginning of May with a 15.1-percent walk rate this season. Kyle Freeland is getting the nod for Colorado, and he's seen his share of struggles in 2026. Through 12 starts, Freeland is 1-7 with a 7.98 ERA and a 1.70 WHIP. In his last outing against the Athletics, Freeland allowed six runs on ten hits in 5.2 innings. In five starts at Coors Field, Freeland has a 7.50 ERA with a 1.83 WHIP. He hasn't made it past the fifth inning in his last four starts at home. Thirteen of the 14 home runs that Freeland has allowed this season have come against right-hand bats. The switch-hitting Reynolds is hitting .322 with a .419 on-base percentage against lefty pitching this season.
