| WCUP | (225587) Belgium at (225588) USA | 8:00pm EDT - Jul 6/2026 |
The PLAY: Youri Tielemans (BEL) Over 1.5 Shot Attempts
Youri Tielemans was the Belgian hero against Senegal in the Round of 32, and the Red Devils will likely be looking in his direction once again on Monday night. Tielemans scored the game-tying goal in the 89th minute against Senegal then made the game-winning penalty kick in extra time to pull off the improbable come-from-behind win. Belgian manager Rudi Garcia has struggled to keep a consistent lineup on the field, juggling Belgium's aging generation (Romelu Lukaku and Kevin De Bruyne) with the up-and-comers. Lukaku did not start against Senegal and was brought on at halftime. De Bruyne and Jeremy Doku were both sub'd off after 55 minutes, which raised an eyebrow around the Belgian camp. But Tielemans has remained a constant in the Red Devils' lineup and we are looking for him to generate over 1.5 shots against the US on Monday night in Seattle. Tielemans has played 385 out of a possible 390 minutes for Belgium thus far, so he's not in much danger of being removed from this match. At the 2024 Euro tournament, Tielemans averaged 2.40 shots per 90 minutes. During World Cup qualifying, Tielemans averaged 3.06 shots per 90 minutes. Through the first four matches of this event, Tielemans is averaging 2.1 shots per 90 minutes. American goalkeeper Matt Freese has passed every test thus far, but he's still VERY inexperienced on this stage. From his midfield position, Tielemans is very capable of launching a long-range shot from outside the box to see how Freese handles the spotlight. Including the two warm-up matches against Croatia and Tunisia prior to the start of the tournament, Tielemans has generated at least two shots in five of Belgium's last six matches.

| MLB | (909) New York Yankees at (910) Tampa Bay Rays: Moneyline | 6:40pm EDT - Jul 6/2026 |
The PLAY: New York Yankees -102 Cam Schlittler (RHP), Griffin Jax (RHP) Must Start
Tampa's gameplan for Griffin Jax had been working flawlessly for nearly two months, but it hit a roadblock in his last start against the Royals. The Rays took Jax out of the bullpen earlier this season and put him in the starting rotation with a conscious effort to only go through the batting order twice. For the first time in 12 starts, they let him pitch into the sixth inning against Kansas City and he ended up giving up three runs, including a pair of home runs. Jax has pitched well in his role, but there are some signs of regression swirling. Jax enters Monday in the bottom-15th percentile among all pitchers in expected ERA, expected batting average allowed and barrel rate. His expected batting average allowed has climbed from .228 last season to .278 this year. His expected weighted on-base average allowed (.354) is 30 points higher than his actual weighted on-base average allowed (.324). His expected ERA (5.37) is nearly two runs higher than his actual ERA (3.45). It's a small sample size, but the Yankees have enjoyed some success against Jax in the past with a .310 batting average and a .383 weighted on-base percentage. Craig Kimbrel is presumably unavailable out of the Rays' bullpen tonight after he pitched on back-to-back days over the weekend. Yankees' starter Cam Schlittler had an extra day to rest and prep for this start after a rough outing against the Tigers where he allowed three home runs in the first inning. Schlittler should benefit from the pitcher-friendly conditions at Tropicana Field compared to the sweltering heat in the Bronx right now. In ten starts away from home this season, Schlittler is 6-2 with a 1.03 ERA and an 0.78 WHIP.
